Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992)

Presenting this Dutch 911 GT3 RS (992.1), commissioned through Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program and finished in Paint-to-Sample Coppaflorioblau (non-metallic, uni 360).

Available in 1976/77 on the 911, Coppaflorio Blue would later become permanently linked to one of Porsche Exclusive’s most significant Sonderwunsch builds: the 993 GT2 chassis 197. Specified in Coppaflorio Blue over Can-Can Red leather, that car established one of the most recognizable and intentional GT specifications ever created through Porsche Exclusive.

This GT3 RS follows that exact formula. Of the four known 992 GT3 RS finished in Coppaflorio Blue, two have been specified with a Lipstick Red leather interior — an interesting recurrence of the defining interior theme first seen on chassis 197, nearly three decades earlier.

The Coppaflorio finish extends beyond the bodywork to numerous exterior components, including the magnesium wheels, RS center locks, lower front bumper section, headlight accent rings, mirror caps and arms, side air intakes, roof fins, rear wing endplates, and rear Porsche script. Exposed carbon fiber elements of the Weissach Package remain visible.

Inside, the Lipstick Red leather interior clearly references the original GT2 specification. However, despite the intention, the modern 992 interior architecture does not allow the same visual intensity. Many surfaces that were fully trimmed in red leather on the GT2 remain black or carbon here. Most notably, the bucket seats and roof lining — a surface that historically played a major role in defining the cabin’s color environment — remains dark. Porsche itself demonstrated the visual impact of a fully red upper interior with the 991.2 GT2 RS, where red roof linings were available through Exclusive.

As a result, while this GT3 RS faithfully carries forward the Coppaflorio Blue over red concept, it also highlights how uniquely uncompromising the original GT2 specification truly was.
